An installation in the Sirkeci Train Station made for the 1997 Istanbul Biennial. 12 images from live surveillance cameras alternated with recorded footage. These videos were juxtaposed with four written stories (read as text projected in English and Turkish). The images on the screens (although live and impossible to predetermine) became illustrations for the stories: The man waiting on the platform becomes contextualized as the man in one story; the girl in the telephone booth is viewed as the dutiful daughter in another story; the live video of boats trolling the Golden Horn becomes the sight of an unrequited love affair of the final story.
